Visit Lindos

No trip to Rhodes is complete without visiting the ancient city of Lindos. This picturesque village, perched atop a hill with two spectacular beaches at its base, has been inhabited since antiquity and is one of the most beautiful spots on the island.

Take a walk around the archaeological site and admire the stunning views of the Aegean Sea. You can also explore the narrow streets of the village before visiting one of its many traditional tavernas for a delicious local lunch.

Last but not least you can go for swimming in the crystal clear waters of St. Paul’s Bay or take a boat tour around Lindos Bay to admire this stunning natural harbour from afar.

Bear in mind that if you have small children the best time to visit Lindos is early morning or late afternoon, when the temperatures are not too hot.

Explore Valley of Butterflies

Take a stroll through the magnificent Valley of Butterflies, located close to Rhodes’ old town. This lush pine forest is home to thousands of colourful butterflies and offers breathtaking views over the Aegean Sea.

You can take a guided tour through this beautiful valley or follow one of the many hiking trails that will lead you to some of its hidden gems. If you’re lucky, you might even spot some rare species of butterflies!

Visit Kallithea Springs

If you’re looking for a fun day out with the kids, then look no further than Kallithea Springs. This spectacular thermal spa complex is located near Faliraki and has an outdoor pool surrounded by lush gardens and towering palms.

Go on a Boat Trip

Rhodes is home to some breathtakingly beautiful coves and beaches, so why not go on a boat trip around them? There are plenty of tour companies offering boat trips to the nearby islands, where you can explore hidden coves and crystal clear waters along with your family.

You can choose between Chalki, Symi or Kos which are the closest islands to Rhodes.

If your children are fun of medieval knights and castles, then be sure to visit the imposing Palace of the Grand Masters which once served as the residence of the Knights of Saint John in Rhodes.
